Carrie (2013)

“A sheltered high school girl unleashes her newly developed telekinetic powers after she is pushed too far by her peers.” (Source: youtube)

Based on the Stephen King Novel “Carrie” (1974) this is a remake of the movie with the same name from 1976. As the case with several movies based on Stephen King novels (if not all of them), the movie doesn’t get anywhere near to the novel. Turning one of the key-scenes into a more 21 century setting by smartphone humiliation through social network is a nice idea but didn’t reach deep enough. All in all its a movie you just have to watch when you’re a fan of the novel – but you better buckle up, it will disappoint you.

Highlights: 21st century adaptation of the novel, Strong female character
Negative Aspects: Don’t read novel first if you want to enjoy the movie,

3 out of 10 stab wounds
