Begotten (1990) is an artistic avantgarde horror movie that could not be more disturbing. All in Black and White, there is this special scene: a female figure sits somewhere in an old and bedraggled cabin and only moves back and forth, back and forth, back and …. There is not very much of a plot and neither is there dialoge – the focus is much more on the imagery of pure horror. It sure is worth watching – even if you might need two or three attempts to watch it in one go.

Highlights: “Oh my god this is so disturbing – I can’t watch it any longer”
Negative Aspects: Might take some time until you become accustomed to the stylistics and dynamics of the movie
